STOP PRESS!

Here’s the latest news hot off the press following Zero Charm’s win at Construction Rocks 2016.

From Building Magazine – “Construction Rocks: Vintage Bands night” by James Clegg. Oct 12, 2016.

“And what could follow that?” I hear you gasp, reader. Well, I’ll tell you… It’s only reigning Construction Rocks champions Zero Charm (from Balfour Beatty). Arguably no band is quite as Construction Rocks as Zero Charm. They work in construction. They play classic rock. In many ways they embody the spirit of the event.

So we get a guitarist with a big-rimmed leather hat, a singer who emerges initially in a 1970s heavy metal band black hooded cape, and then a set made up of belting covers of Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer, Van Halen’s Jump, AC DC’s Highway to Hell, and Guns and Roses’ Sweet Child of Mine (a reoccurring Construction Rocks favourite).

They don’t dress it up as anything it isn’t. They just do it really well. And the judges raved about them.

From LandAid – “Flaming T-shirts, feline frolics, stage dives and inflatable fish – just another night at Construction Rocks!” by Leah De Silva | Oct 7, 2016.

Balfour Beatty’s Zero Charm appeared to have bags of charm, having wowed judges and crowd alike to waltz off with the trophy for Best Band once again …

Zero Charm – Construction Rocks 2016 – Winners!

As if there were any doubt, Zero Charm have been voted ‘Best Band’ for an unprecedented second year in a row at this year’s Construction Rocks!

The competition was hotter than ever with seven other bands putting on great performances and, with four new hypercritical judges to impress, the pressure was certainly on.

However, the fans that came in their droves to see Zero Charm were not disappointed. They got to see vintage ‘Charm on top of their game and perform, what will go down in the history books, as one of their best ever sets.

Scala got rocking to the rafters as the guys kicked off with a powerful rendition of Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’, followed by ‘Jump’ by Van Halen, a storming version of AC/DC’s ‘Highway to Hell’ which got EVERYONE rocking, rounded off by the band’s crushing version of ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ by Guns n’ Roses. Even Slash would have been impressed with Jerry’s mighty axe-work on that one!

The star of the show, however, was unquestionably Daniella; with her powerful vocals, high energy and stunning stage performance she connected with the crowd like no other that night. She simply owned that stage, captivating the entire audience and cementing what was the best night in Zero Charm’s history.

The judges all agreed:

“Enjoyed every moment of that!”

“Zero Charm?? I think you’ve got bags of charm – I could have listened to you ALL night!”

“If Construction Rock is all about rock … then you guys ROCKED!”

“Amazing front woman – you have spirit, confidence and an amazing amount of talent”.

“A great walloping sound, bare-foot look … I FRIGGIN’ LOVED IT!!”

So, another wonderful trophy for the cabinet was presented to the band at the end of an exhausting evening in front of a frenzied crowd. But it doesn’t end there – the band also win time in the world famous “State of the Ark” recording studios to lay down some tracks … watch this space!

Whatever comes next, Thursday the 6th October 2016 will go down in Zero Charm’s history as the night they ROCKED LONDON!!
